  • Bowling Coach for Season 2018/19 - Alan Wise

    Footscray is excited to appoint Alan Wise as our bowling coach for season 2018/19.  Alan played played for Victoria, played 286 matches for Richmond/Monash Tigers,  and took a fantastic 541 wickets at an average of 18.17.  His best bowling was 7/29.

    We are excited to secure the services of Western Suburbs legend Michael O’Keefe as Footscray’s batting coach for season 2018/19.  Michael is the current record holder for most runs for Footscray, was captain coach, and has a great premiership record with the Yarraville Club in the VJCA compettion.

“Sons of the West”

The Footscray Cricket Club joined the Victorian Premier Cricket competition in 1948, providing players of the Western Suburbs of Melbourne the chance to play at the highest level of club cricket and come under the eyes of Victorian selectors.

Based at Merv Hughes Oval on Farnsworth Ave in Footscray for training and 1st and 2nd XI play, and playing 3rd and 4th XI cricket at the Tony Dodemaide Oval across Farnsworth Avenue, Footscray Cricket Club is the only Victorian Premier Cricket club in the western suburbs.
